Case Study – The National Trust
In 2007 the National Trust launched their Health & Safety Guidance Note on Lone
Working which is applicable to all lone working staff and volunteers within the
Trust. It identified 28 different lone working scenarios, such as house staff
alone in the property at night, staff travelling alone by car or on public transport,
and those working in more extreme conditions outdoors. In addition
it offers advice on taking the appropriate precautions.
The launch of the Guidance Note accompanied a new training course and the introduction of a lone worker alarm and tracking device developed and produced by Skyguard.
