October 2006:With Skyguard's personal safety alarm you won’t be left out in the cold
10 hour search involving coastguards and three helicopters eventually found an elderly man who had been trapped in undergrowth after being chased by a bull in a field. The walker had dialled 999 on his mobile but nothing further had been heard from him. A rescue helicopter with infra-red detection cameras was used in the search.
With Skyguard's personal safety alarm the walker could have been located within minutes.
Activation of Skyguard's personal safety alarm could have quickly located the man and sent his position to the Skyguard Emergency Response Centre. Controllers at the Centre are on hand 24 hours a day to receive alarm calls and to carry out emergency instructions as pre-agreed with the individual user. After calling the appropriate emergency services and providing them with location details to within 15m of the person calling for assistance, the Controller maintains communication with the user, where safe to do so, providing reassurance until help arrives.
Don't be caught out! Carry Skyguard's personal safety alarm.
