Skyguard's Welfare Check and Timer are SMS based services which provide lone workers with convenient
and cost-effective protection. They can be used individually, together, or combined with other services
such as the GEMshield or MySOS lone worker devices.
Welfare Check
Welfare Check sends periodical SMS messages to the user's mobile phone asking them to confirm they are
okay, at time intervals set by their employer. Each SMS received requires a "Yes" reply back within a
predefined time period, to confirm the employee is safe. If no response is sent, or a differently worded
SMS, an alarm is escalated to Skyguard's dedicated Incident Management Centre (IMC). Here trained
Controllers will be presented with the user's personal information and will follow the bespoke escalation
procedures set by their organisation.
Timer
The Timer service works in a similar way; the user sends an SMS to Skyguard's system with the time at
which their appointment is due to finish. To cancel the timer the user simply sends another SMS to our
system. If the timer is not cancelled, an alarm is escalated to Skyguard's IMC where our Controllers will
follow the predefined escalation procedures.
All aspects of both services can be fully customisable via SMS or online using our Customer Service Centre portal,
to suit any organisations particular requirements.
